When your shipment arrives in Israel, there are several port-related services that take place before delivery can happen. These services are handled by the Israeli port, bonded warehouse facilities, and local handling agents. The charges connected to these services are commonly called “Israel port fees”.

For full container shipments, the port unloads the container from the vessel and moves it to a designated area within the port.

For partial shipments (shared containers), the process is slightly different. After the container is unloaded, the shipment is transferred to a bonded warehouse. The bonded warehouse:

  • Receives the shipment from the port
  • Holds the shipment securely
  • Stores the shipment for up to approximately 30 days without storage charges in many cases
  • Releases the shipment at the time of customs clearance and delivery

Two common port-related charges you may see:

  • THC (Terminal Handling Charges)
Charges related to unloading and handling the cargo at the port terminal.
  • Delivery Order Fee
A documentation charge for releasing the shipment from the shipping line or warehouse to the delivery agent.

Some of our proposals include Israeli port fees, while others do not. If they are not included in your proposal, these charges are typically paid in Israel before delivery.

Port fees and procedures may change periodically without notice, depending on shipping lines, port authorities, and government regulations.
