How consolidation works
Four families. Four separate shipments. One container.
A partial shipment—also called a consolidated or LCL shipment—is for household goods that do not require a full container. Several families share the ocean container, and each family pays for the space its professionally packed shipment occupies.
The family’s belongings are professionally packed and assigned their own identifiable shipment space.
The packed pieces are numbered and recorded on that family’s individual shipping inventory.
The final packed shipment is measured, protected and loaded according to the space it requires.
The shipment shares the voyage but remains separately documented for customs clearance and delivery.
Sharing the container does not combine the families’ belongings. Each shipment has its own inventory and identification. After the container arrives in Israel, the partial shipments are unloaded into a bonded warehouse, cleared and scheduled for delivery separately.

Partial shipments require flexibility
Unlike a dedicated container, a partial shipment normally waits at the warehouse until enough compatible shipments are ready to fill a container. It may catch the next consolidation—or the one after it.
Sailing routes, customs, holidays, port activity and delivery scheduling can also change the overall timeline. Inland origins such as Chicago or Denver generally require additional time to reach the export warehouse.

Understanding the price
Your final volume is confirmed after packing
Your quote begins with an estimate of what you plan to ship. The final billable volume is based on the outside dimensions after the goods have been professionally packed and prepared for shipping.
Wrapping, cartons, pallets or wooden lift vans protect the goods and become part of the shipment’s measured volume. Furniture can increase volume quickly, which is why a detailed list or video survey is helpful.
Want to keep the shipment near a certain size? Tell us in advance and speak with the crew chief on packing day. The crew can try to pack toward your requested volume cap, although the exact result cannot be guaranteed.

What does 200 cubic feet look like?
Two hundred cubic feet is a common partial-shipment starting size. It is often suitable for boxes of clothing, books, linens, kitchenware and personal belongings, with limited room for furniture.

Partial shipment FAQ
What is the minimum partial-shipment size?
A typical professionally packed partial shipment begins at 200 cubic feet. Smaller shipments may be better suited to our Super Small Shipment or Aliyah Air Freight service.
Can I include furniture?
Yes. Partial shipments can include boxes and furniture. Keep in mind that sofas, beds, dining tables, appliances and large dressers use volume quickly.
Do I need to pack my own boxes?
No. Our standard full-packing service includes normal boxes, tape, wrapping and packing materials. If you prefer a self-packed option, ask us which small-shipment service fits your needs.
Why can’t you guarantee the sailing date?
Partial shipments share a container. The container sails when the necessary shipments are ready and the consolidation, vessel and port schedules align.
How is my shipment kept separate?
Your pieces are numbered and listed on an inventory. Depending on the shipment and route, the goods may be palletized, shrink-wrapped or packed into wooden lift vans for handling and protection.
When will I know the final cost?
The final charge follows the terms of your proposal and the shipment’s confirmed packed volume. Any applicable special services or access charges are handled according to the proposal.
What happens after the vessel arrives in Israel?
The shared container is unloaded into a bonded warehouse. Your customs file is completed, the shipment is released, and delivery is then scheduled—commonly about one to two weeks after arrival.
Should I choose a partial shipment or a container?
A partial shipment is usually the better fit for part of a household. As the volume approaches the capacity of a 20-foot container, a dedicated container may offer better value, less handling and a more direct schedule.
