When customers watch professional movers pack a dish pack box, they are sometimes surprised to see a little space left at the top of the box. At first glance, it may seem like the box is not packed completely full. In reality, this small amount of space is usually intentional and helps protect fragile items during shipping.

A dish pack is a heavy-duty, double-walled box designed for maximum protection of fragile kitchen items such as plates, bowls, glasses, serving dishes, and small appliances. The double-wall construction gives the box added strength so it can better handle stacking pressure, container loading, truck vibration, and long international transit times.

Our crews use large amounts of packing paper to cushion the contents and prevent movement inside the box. The goal is not to squeeze in as many items as possible. Instead, the goal is to create a tightly supported load that protects fragile items from shifting or absorbing direct impact during transport.

Crews place crumpled packing paper at the bottom of the carton, between items, and on top before sealing the box. That top layer of paper acts like a shock absorber and helps prevent damage if additional cartons are stacked above it.

If a dish pack is overfilled, the top flaps may bulge outward and weaken the carton. This can reduce the stacking strength of the box and increase the chance of broken dishes during shipping.

A properly packed dish pack should feel dense, solid, and secure, with no rattling or shifting inside. Even if there appears to be a little room at the top, that protective space is often an important part of safe professional packing.
