Most household goods can be packed, loaded, and delivered under standard shipping rates. However, exceptionally heavy items may require additional charges at both origin and destination.
As a general guideline, items weighing more than 100 kg (220 lbs) may be subject to extra handling fees. Common examples include:
- Pianos
- Large safes
- Marble or stone table tops
- Large glass table tops
- Heavy exercise equipment
Standard shipping rates are designed for typical household goods and normal handling conditions. Extra-heavy items often require additional crew members, specialized equipment, or extra time to move safely.
Sometimes an item itself weighs less than 100 kg but exceeds the limit after being properly prepared for export. For example, a marble table top may require a custom wooden crate for protection, and the combined weight of the table top and crate can push it over the threshold.
If you’re unsure whether an item qualifies as extra-heavy, the weight can often be found online by searching for the manufacturer’s specifications. Providing this information during the quotation process helps us identify any special handling requirements in advance and avoid surprises on packing day.
