Shipping without rights?

If you are coming to Israel as a student, returning to Israel before you have rights as a toshav hozer or simply shipping some goods then your shipment will be subject to Customs duties (import taxes).  The rate for standard household goods is about 40% of the declared value of your shipment.  Some items, like electronics, may be taxes at a higher rate.

For current tax rates of personal imports visit the Israel Tax Authority website.
